Microsoft All-In One Code Framework

Filed under: .NET & Excel, Excel, VSTO & Excel — Dennis M Wallentin @ 12:37 am

The best way to handle knowledge is to make it available to its targeting main group of individuals. Public Q&A forums are one example that both store and regular add new knowledge to the public knowledge base.

Another example is Microsoft recently approach to create and maintenance a centralized code sample library, Microsoft All-In One Code Framework. It’s driven by the developers’ needs and it’s also free.

The goal with it is to provide typical code samples for all Microsoft development technologies. The team behind the code library monitor several different forums to collect frequently asked questions and make the solutions’ code available as part of the code library.

From my point of view this is a welcoming initiative.  It’s an excellent way to make knowledge available in addition to the public forums.

New Page for Mac & Excel

Filed under: Excel — Dennis M Wallentin @ 11:43 pm

Ron de Bruin has recently launched a new page on his side devoted to Mac & Excel. He aims to port all the VBA code for Windows & Excel located on his site to Excel on the Mac platform.

This is a welcoming initiative and although the Mac Excel community is not that large they now get more and better support from the online Excel developing group.

You find the page at the following URL: http://www.rondebruin.nl/mac.htm

Great work as always Ron!

Kind regards,
Dennis
